October 3, 2015 at 6:32 pm #1674TezzaParticipantNo problem Our Altis Life server is good fun, it is still a work in progress as we are one of the only communities to be running the new version of Altis Life which is a pain in the ass to modify. But PREZ is doing an awesome job of Deving it for us and customizing it to our needs All our servers are relatively new and are now just starting to get a player base that are a long the lines of what we are wanting to achieve as a gaming community. So now is a great time to get involved in the process and watch it grow while being apart of it allIn reply to: Greetings from the =mfp=
October 3, 2015 at 6:32 pm #1673TezzaParticipantThanks for the welcome. On a side note Might even have a look at your Altis Life server if DayZ remains too buggy.
I did try it a little when it first came out, but never really put much time into it? Couple our guys smashed it for a while though one became a bit of a druglord lol. Always wanted to play Cop myselfQ. Are your servers pretty new? might be nice to get involved early on.

October 3, 2015 at 6:31 pm #1672TezzaParticipantHey HeyAnd welcome to Nomad United Gaming lol I had to laugh at the last part, I to once played on the Commodore 64
It sounds like you and your clan would fit in perfectly here at NUG, we originally tried the DayZ RPG with a different community where it worked really well, but after years of putting time and effort into building other peoples communities up we decided to put the time and effort into building one of our own and this is itI have had a look at your website and am thrilled to say that we think a like! All the things you have up on your website is exactly what I have been trying to implement here But I am having to start with people who dont know all that much about RP so I have been having to implement things slowly so that way I dont scare people off from the idea of DayZ RPG before they give it a go! I would love for you to jump onto TS and have a talk with me and our staff, so we can get to know you better and hear more about your ideas and how they would work in with ours
Thank you again for introducing yourself

October 3, 2015 at 5:52 pm #1644TezzaParticipantYeah, the game modes creator (Tonic) basically hard-coded it so you cant loot other bodies, in the we are looking to hopefully reverse that in the future but apparently modifying it is a minefieldAnd saving inventories has always been an issue in Altis unfortunately, if you wish to save Y-menu the only way to do that is share it among players or keep it in your house

October 3, 2015 at 5:52 pm #1643TezzaParticipantFrom memory PREZ said that items left in vehicles that are garaged are currently not persistent; thus don’t leave stuff in vehicles for now, not sure if that will change? I’d like it in myself. Also there is a current setting that will not allow anyone to pick up a dead players items/cash etc… – think that might be in place to reduce Murders etc… not sure?
and Yeah some of the shops need setting up yet.

October 3, 2015 at 5:51 pm #1642TezzaParticipantonly store working seemed to be the vehicles and market. Guns, weapon were all broken.I stored a vehicle full of white powdery substance. Was then unable to retrieve it.
Couldn’t pick up inventory of dead colleague after a dehydration mishap.

October 3, 2015 at 5:48 pm #1640TezzaParticipantInteresting to see how other servers are setup for ideas and to see what works well and what might look gimmicky?
Worth jumping on a few for a sniff about, if you haven’t done already PREZ.Had a quick look about on the strayagaming.com Altis Life tonight, to see how they are setup, also checked out one of their Altis Life youtube clips:
They have some rank icons above their PD players I thought was pretty cool. They also had a few diff PD vehicle skins which looked okay. The also named their Police stations a little different (eg. Their Kavala cop shop is called: Sydney Police HQ etc…) and had Aussie flags about the place, with a civi player I came across in Aussie flag shorts, Tshirt and thongs lol, not sure about the Aussie theme and names on the map myself, but worth a mention. Oh and they have a paintball battle setup on there, although never tried it?Also on ozzy and straya seems to be a new Police/Cadet skin that looks alright and might add to the PD skin range available? Is a light blue top, with the word ‘cadet’ on the back for public players. Appeared after a recent update on ozzy this week.

October 3, 2015 at 5:47 pm #1639TezzaParticipantNot sure what host your with? I’ve used this mob before, good support:
https://www.streamline-servers.com Arma3 sample costs: 30slot/$45/m, 60slot/$90/m, 70slot/$105/m, 80slot/$120m
But yeah Arma3 (and DayZ SA for that matter) are damn expensive hey! But don’t worry too much about funding this server at least for the first couple months because if needed I’ll cover it (in donations) when the time comes to increasing the pop cap.
Part of the reason we are joining a community server hosting group is to share the costs, which we have had to do ourselves in the past so know how expensive it can be and you guys are running a load of servers straight up!Regarding the next Life server NUG staff meeting, yeah happy to attend if I’m available.

October 3, 2015 at 5:47 pm #1638TezzaParticipantHey hun, I would love to pull you in for our next staff meeting on the grounds of the Altis life server, you have some great ideas and I would love to see them put in to action! Also at the moment the slots are capped at 30 due to funds, at the moment I am the one who is bank rolling NUG outside of the few donations we receive, I cant afford to increase the slots at the moment but it is something that I would be looking at doing in the future if the regular pop levels rise and the money situation betters, Arma servers are more expensive to run the DayZ ones are, for 30 slots its $90 a month.I am amazed by the effort you guys are putting in and would love to hear more of what you have to suggest I will let you know when we are having our next meeting if you are interested in joining us

October 3, 2015 at 5:46 pm #1637TezzaParticipantNoticed a slight difference in the server speed limit information Soul recently posted in the Civilian Rules compared to the (likely default) in game map rules and info. So in your spare time lol, you might want to cross check these and other rules sets/ penalties/ info etc… to ensure they are consistent across the board. In reply to: Server feedback
October 3, 2015 at 5:45 pm #1636TezzaParticipantI’m Interested in seeing NUG Altis Life server become one of the top servers in the future, so will continue to try and give some constructive feedback and suggestions to help PREZ and the server admins/police commanders etc… build a great server community up. Obviously at the end of the day this is your baby and you run it how you want, but as I’ve found in the past running servers it can be a lonely job as a server Admin sometimes and some ideas from others never does any harm.Checked the cop shop side of things and they are setup and seem to be mostly working fine now. Unable to check the sergeant etc.. ones due to being a junior copper Guessing the civi ones are working now too?
From the Cop side of things I’d like to see Police vehicle types a little more restricted, so say public slot cops can only buy the basic cop ute and some types only available for purchase for certain ranked cops etc…? gives cops something to look forward to as they progress through the police ranks and their career, if you know what I mean.Couple of other notes, it is quite a big download file each for first timers on the server, likewise for server updates having to reload etc… Not a major issue for future server regular players, but might put off some newbies. Also not an issue long term with a populated server, but might be an issue while trying to get the server populated. Thus could be worth considering slightly reducing the amount of sexytime vehicle skins till the population builds up? then re-add them once a stable population begins to build.
Also the server population cap could be an issue, where at the moment it is a cap of 30. To be honest I think a lot of potential players would look at that cap and think, its not enough for the Altis map and not even bother jumping on, even with a few other players on the server. Not a drama while the server is under development. However when we do aim to populate the server the server cap needs to be lifted to around the 70 mark or higher? as a draw card as I think potential players want to at least see a potential larger population for the interaction and fun that always follows. I can donate a bit more to help increase the server pop cap when the time comes if needed.
PREZ, shout out when you think you have a finished baseline server model and everything has been tested etc… and I’ll try to help with server population building.
As one of my members mentioned, we need two things to get the server up and busy:
1. A fully working server setup.
2. A regular population.
We won’t get to 2. without 1. being sorted out first. In the meantime I’m testing out ozzygaming.com‘s Altis Life (one of the current top servers) for more cop player experience and to see how they are running things there: had some awesome cop action, but also interesting to see how a busy server pop runs form the police side of things. They have many great RP coppers but also a few clowns that have somehow climbed the police ranks and having a good quality of cop players is the foundation for good RP on Altis Life in my opinion, so is important to get a good whitelist admission/promotion model running.
Also noticed many of their ‘Rebel’ grouped players can also switch between playing a whitelisted cop position and a Rebel, even in between events. I’m not sure it is the way to go as there is a bit of mistrust between players ‘switching’ camps during the same session? Will keep feedback coming till you tell me to bugger off

October 3, 2015 at 5:43 pm #1632TezzaParticipantNUGHQ Has given me an opportunity as the NUGPD Commissioner, so looking to finalise development and establish the NUGPD on our server.
We do not need to follow all common Altis Life Police structures exactly but at the same time if they are proven to work then we will not stray too far from that. However it might still be good to put our own style on our server.NUGPD Planning:
Check and align all fines and laws for consistency: In-Game, Team-Speak Altis Police Handbook and Forum rule set.
Review the Police Witelisting/Application Protocol.
Finalising a NUGPD Structure and align Teamspeak rank icons as required.
Seek a couple of experienced founding Training Sergeants to establish the NUGPD General Duties Section.Note: NUG are looking at changing the Altis Life server provider vsoon and sorting out development side of things. Once they are sorted out, we will review a server population cap increase, then push for populating the server etc…
and establishing a Whitelisted NUGPD crew as we go.***Please feel free to contribute to any NUGPD development discussions, all input and suggestions are valuable.

Former Sergeant on The Revolution GamingAll old Altis Life servers, which used to be on top before they closed down. I have a lot of experience
A lot of the Procedures and Laws for many Australian Communities were written by me and edited by some. But i’m not really that keen on leading Police Force’s anymore, as i’m trying to have a break. 2000+ hours of Altis Life later… hahaha
